Welcome to the Garcia Opera House. located in Socorro, New Mexico. The historic Opera House was originally built in 1881 and is currently operated by the Garcia Opera House Foundation, located at First State Bank. The Opera House is still in use for community events and private bookings including fundraisers, weddings, dinners, performances, etc.

Facilities

The Garcia Opera House is available for rent at the rate of $425.00 per day. This rent includes the Opera House, 20 large round tables and 120 folding chairs. We also have wireless hand-held and lapel microphones available for your use. However, each microphone requires a $100 deposit, which is refunded upon their return.

The facility houses multi-stall  men's and women's restrooms, a coat storage area, a large main hall and a very large stage and staging area. Currently, there are no kitchen facilities at the Opera House. However, in the past caterers have been able to setup their kitchens on or behind the stage as well as in the main part of the Opera House. 

In some instances, the Garcia Opera House Foundation may subsidize a reduced rent for non-profit organizations whose purposes benefit the entire community. To qualify for subsidized reduced rent, please complete the appropriate form found at the bottom of this page.
